Tribe operates reservation phone system

A tribally owned telephone system has been up and running on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation in South Dakota since September. (This is one of a very few if not the only tribal telephone utility service.)

Native American Telecom-Crow Creek provides telephone and advanced broadband service on the reservation. Tribal officials say it will pave the way for business, economic, social and educational development on the reservation.
