Are American students taught the full history of North America?

I have blogged a few times about one of my pet peeves – how little American grade, high school, and college students are taught about the complete and accurate history of North America and its native inhabitants. We study all about the Egyptian pyramids and cultures and even sometimes about the complex cultures of South and Central America and Mexico.

But how many Americans know about the pyramid building cultures that inhabited what is now the United States?

Tale a look at this online slideshow that covers cities & towns from the Olmecs to Mississippian & Anazazi cultures in what is now the United States. (There is one error – the slides about Cahokia list it as being in the modern day state of Indiana when it instead is located in Illinois)
