The Adam Walsh Act and tribal governments

The Deputy Attorney General for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Oregon has written an article expressing his personal opinions about the Adam Walsh Act and various implementation issues that American Indian tribal governments face. He concludes that the Act needs to be amended.

The Umatilla Tribes are the first tribal jurisdiction to be designated by the U.S. Department of Justice as having substantially implemented the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act requirements.
